Healing Through Language — Stories of Sepsis Survivors
Have you or your loved ones ever been affected by sepsis? What happens when patients experience language barriers when navigating the healthcare system? Listen to the stories of sepsis survivors in their own words. Their stories highlight the importance of using qualified interpreters and providing linguistically appropriate care to patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). These patients were part of a Health Equity pilot program at Providence Mission Hospital and were cared for and followed by a group of a group of bilingual sepsis nurse navigators.

Providence hospital is just loke Kaiser and Presbyterian here in Van Nuys California.. I'm a CNA.. And they all make it seems as it all it matters it's their "commitment" But yet when u apply all they see on interviews is "logistics" not ethics and beliefs.. I'm a Christian that beliefs in respecting what others beliefs or chooses.. Or.. To Just treat as how u would love maybe not ursel but ur lovesones 2 b treated.. Which is.. Good help when u can.. give all ur best.. is not about who deserves is just about being there 2 do ur best.. But so far The hospitals I have worked at.. It's all blabla...

Hello I had a stroke 2009 My cardiologist found I had a PFO but wouldn’t recommend closure. 10 years after he referred me to heart specialist This surgeon wouldn’t do closure because my protein c level for clotting was slightly off and indicated I still needed to be on blood thinner 5mg twice daily. This is not right

Yes! I suffered an extremely severe allergic reaction to the first moderna vaccine which was day number one of, to date, 3 1/2 years of my being home bound due to that 1st vaccine. I went from working out every single day, doing great, fully functional, living my life, etc… to 100% home bound incapable of driving, grocery shopping, taking me 3 months to be able to get my Mail, doctor visits that resulted in having to have gallbladder removed, liver biopsy and chronic liver issues, serious breathing problems, hear arrhythmia, high blood pressure I’ve never had, fatigue that comes with brain fog and my intellect function greatly reduced, serious memory issues, etc. I know I know! This is so rare that I am proof the vaccines are COMPLETELY SAFE! L I A R S!

The plant-based ones also have omega six and defeat the purpose of taking omega 3s in the first place. You want a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio of omega 3s to omega 6s. Also, there are three types of omega 3s only 1 comes from plants that barely converts to EPA or DHA. Seeds are survival foods not meant to be eaten in high quantities ever.

I strongly advise against seeing Dr. K. Fong. During our initial visit, when my dad tried to explain his symptoms, Dr. Fong impatiently insisted on yes-or-no answers. It felt like we were merely presenting symptoms, not receiving the care we needed. My father has a history of cancer, and when he went to the emergency room for another issue, they discovered a bone lesion. When I informed Dr. Fong, he only ordered a bone X-ray and dismissed any concerns, saying 'there is nothing. From April 24, when we provided Dr. Fong with the CT scan results, until August, he did nothing to address my father's aggressive cancer. A month later, my father's pain worsened, and another ER visit revealed that the bone lesion had significantly progressed. It took four months for Dr. Fong to finally agree to a biopsy, which is dangerously delayed in cancer cases. During each visit, Dr. Fong claimed to spend more time with us than he actually did, and we consistently waited over ten minutes for him to arrive. On one occasion, while my dad was in significant pain in the exam room, Dr. Fong was outside casually discussing sushi with a colleague. Despite the urgency, when we finally had a biopsy on June 26, Dr. Fong scheduled the follow-up appointment for July 24, which felt unnecessarily delayed. Dr. Fong never performed any physical exams during our visits, nor did he ever open a computer in front of us to review the results. Because of Dr. Fong's carelessness and lack of knowledge, my dad is now in severe pain, and the cancer has metastasized to all his spine bones. Given the numerous one-star reviews on Yelp and several bad reviews on Google, I don’t understand why Mission Hospital still employs him. This is a bad reflection on Mission Hospital's reputation. I'm thankful we've found a more responsible doctor now, but I can't forgive Dr. Fong for the delays and negligence that endangered my father's life and caused him immense, uncontrollable pain even with strong pain medication. If you or a loved one need help, just run away from him! He will definitely kill you before cancer does. It's crucial to find a doctor who prioritizes patient well-being and takes prompt action in critical situations. If you or a loved one is dealing with cancer, I urge you not to waste your time with Dr. Fong. Do not trust him! Just look at the reviews! I wish I had taken them more seriously before this awful experience. I switched my father's oncologist after this ordeal. I hope that someone like you, who treats patients and their loved ones with care and urgency, will never have to endure what we went through.

The patient had a very fortunate but also very atypical experience. She got lucky finding a doctor to truly help her instead of the doctors in the first hospital who insisted on their misdiagnosis which is what typically happens. How she even got to stay in the first hospital for a month without her insurance kicking her out, baffles me. And then the huge hassle of getting approved to change hospitals in that condition. The medical community really does not understand diverticular problems since it's only recently become such a big problem. The advice changes almost annually - don't eat nuts, ok you can eat nuts. Have surgery, no don't have surgery. Antibiotics, yes or no. "The system" is really letting us down, and pushing blame back to the patient about "being their own best advocate" really is a cop-out.

Your video presentation was amazing. Thank you for bringing awareness to diverticulitis. I have been suffering for at least six months with pain primarily in my lower left quadrant that also spreads across my bladder. The bulging pressure pushes on my bladder causing pee to pour down my legs upon standing. I've seen my PCP, urologist, gastroenterologist and next visit is with a pelvic physical therapist. My gastroenterologist thinks it's a pelvic prolapse. My gastro PA also ordered a special SIBO test because she thinks I have small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. She diagnosed me with constipation and said to take Miralax and come back in a month! I also have IBS, diverticulosis and stage 3 chronic kidney disease. I'm 72, female and I am worn out from seeing so many specialists and who can't figure out what's going on. All my tests are normal. Even my Cystoscopy, ultrasound and cat scan and blood work are normal. This morning I woke up in worse pain in my lower level side and low abdominal area. It is bulging and making it hard to walk, bend or lift. I have 101.9°and I can't eat because it causes explosive painful diarrhea. I wish I could find a doctor who could help me up here in Oregon.😢
